Joe Kilbride has been a self-employed management consultant since 1990, helping leaders of organizations achieve difficult and important goals. He does this by applying his expertise in:

  • ♦ Strategy execution through alignment of plans, goals, measures, review and improvement processes
  •  Process excellence through application of PDCA and Lean Management methods
  •  Organizational change management through an iterative process that integrates
change management, project management and organizational effectiveness
  •  The Baldrige® Journey using his Road Map to guide leaders on the journey to organizational excellence
Joe also serves as a member of the Panel of Judges for IMEC, who administers the Illinois Performance Excellence, award, the only recognition program in Illinois modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award®. He has been involved since its inception in 1995, serving as a lead senior examiner, judge and trainer of examiners. Much of his consulting work is providing advisory services to executives who are using the Criteria as a framework for assessment and improvement as they lead their organization on the journey to excellence.

Joe's book Road Map for the Baldrige Journey was published by ASQ in December 2015. It is now available upon request directly from Kilbride and provides a step-by-step process to help leaders use the Criteria for Performance Excellence and their state's Baldrige-based award program to design and implement a customized operating model for excellence.

In addition, Joe is a girls high school varsity basketball coach. In 2015-16 he guided the Benet Academy Lady Redwings to back-to-back Illinois Class 4A State Championships.

Prior to going solo in 1990, Joe held positions as a high school teacher, as a marketing representative with Ortho Diagnostics, Inc., as a training consultant with the Jacklich Corporation, and as an instructional designer with Rockwell International.
